The Do's and Dont's of Wardrobe for Adonic Art Professional Headshots

  1. Wear solid colors, and avoid busy prints, prints can be distracting, especially on camera. To keep things simple, aim for solid colors.

  2. Avoid casual clothing like jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers.

  3. Bright colors are great, but go neutral when in doubt.

  4. Keep jewelry minimal, unless this is your industry.

  5. Shoes rarely make it into personal branding photos. However, they complete a professional outfit.

  6. Stick to muted colors when it comes to nail polish - the photos are more timeless that way.

  7. Wear more fitted clothing, not tight.

  8. Loose outfits might make you look boxy on camera - so try to stick to more fitted lines.

  9. We cannot photograph you in transitional lenses they go dark in studio lighting.

  10. Avoid wrinkles, try on all of your clothing in advance, and then take the time to iron them. Wrinkles don't photograph well.

  11. Grooming matters: Pay attention to your overall grooming. Ensure your hair is well-styled and neat, and keep facial hair trimmed and tidy.

Shake it out!

Yes, you read that right. When you're standing in front of the camera, It's really easy to get in your head and feel disconnected from your body. This is how people end up looking stiff and uncomfortable in their images.

A very effective fix for this is to shake It out. Shake your hands, your head and dance for one second. It will make you look like a human again, and will often put a natural smile on your face too. Drop your smile, and bring it back.

Highly recommend that you smile in all of your Images. It has been shown to make you look more, likable and approachable.
